Juliet Elliott, who rides for Charge Bikes, visited portland last week. Luckily I had the week off from work. We were able to do some serious record shopping, ride bikes around the city with the Portland crew, and shoot a bunch of photos. Good times were had despite her dislike of corndogs and biscuits and gravy which she said tasted like scones and white pasta sauce.

I haven't posted many photos lately. Things have slowed down a bit now that wedding season is coming to a close and i've taken the opportinity to take a short vacation to hang out, ride bikes, drink coffee, and listen to the new converge record about a thousand time. I have a new cat named Count Dracula (currently residing with my girlfriend) which i'm sure I'll be posting many photos of and a new apartment that's pretty sweet.
I have added a
Hasselblad Section to the website and a Holga Section is in the works....i think that's about it.

Friday night i had the pleasure of shooting Converge, Mastodon, and High On Fire and the Roseland in Portland, Oregon. I have been eagerly awaiting the new album by Converge and now, after hearing the songs live, I'm even more stoked. The new songs are fast, pissed, and heavy as usual but they also seem to be a bit more melodic. Mastodon played the entire Crack the Skye record as i had hoped. Even though the new record isn't my favorite I love everything this band has done. I missed part of High on Fire's set becasue they started at 6:30. It was my first time seeing these guys and they were great.

I went fishing at the Nahalem River yesterday. The fish weren't biting (as usual) so i sat on a rock and shot reflections in the slow moving water. I also shot with the hasselblad. I'll post the photos when get the film processed.

Last week I was scrounging craigslist for used camera stuff, as I often do. To my surprise I found a Hasselblad 500cm for sale at a price I could afford. I immediately called the seller asked if he would hold it for me and said I would be there as soon I could. I am a huge pessimist, no naturally, I was a little nervous that the camera would be in poor shape or something was wrong with it. But to my surprise when I got there it was in great condition and came with a 50mm, an 85mm, and a 150mm, lenses made by Carl Zeiss. It also came with a Polaroid back so I can shoot Polaroid film….i was beyond stoked (still am). I bought the whole lot and headed home.
Unfortunately, by the time I got home it was dark so I wasn’t able to go out and shot with the new camera. The next morning I loaded my first roll of film and started shooting away. I posted some shots from that first roll. Eventually I’ll add a hasselblad section to the site but for now I’ll post images in the blog.

Here are a few photos from my friend's Rebekah and Steve's wedding. It was such a fun wedding to shoot. In addition to shooting digital, they asked me to shoot film as well. So, We had a few 35mm cameras, a medium format Mamiya, 2 Holgas, a Diana, and polaroids. Between me, my assistants, and Rebeka’s cameras I think we shot with a total of 12 different cameras. I’ve been going through the images over the last few days and I’m so stoked they asked for it to be shot this way.
The watch was a gift from Rebekah to Steve on the day of their wedding. It was built in the early 1900's and in amazing condition, a truly beautiful piece. I have some photos of Steve’s face when he opened it up: priceless. I will post more photos from their wedding soon.

In the last few years I’ve spent the majority of my summer weekends shooting weddings. Right now I’m smack-dab in the middle of the season. These are from a wedding I shot last weekend at the Silver Falls Vineyard outside of Salem, Oregon.

Last weekend i went salmon fishing in the columbia river in Astoria with my dad and some old framily friends down in Astoria. Between four of us we only caught one fish but i was able to snap some photos and do some serious relaxing. At some point in my life i need to buy a boat.

My good friend Colin just released the second issue of his magazine Distorted Perspective entitled Church and State. I'm always challenged, excited, and inspired by his work and this is no exception. It's full of amazing photography and collage. You can check it out here. Below are a few of my favorite pages.

I was fortunate enough to not work this weekend (this is a rare thing to happen during the summer). Saturday morning a bunch of us met up early for coffee and amazing breakfast sandwiches at the Bakery Bar then we rode around the city from. It was awesome to see Joni and Jerry on their new frames they won at Rose City Fix.
